Tennis Courts

Brown's indoor tennis courts are located on the 4th floor of the Paul Bailey Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center, which was officially dedicated in April, 1989, in memory of Paul Bailey Pizzitola '81. The four tennis courts are housed under a fabric roof, which is made of teflon-coated fiberglass, a translucent material. The outdoor tennis courts are located next to the varsity baseball and softball fields behind the OMAC.

General Court Info

• Restrooms are available on the 1st floor lobby level
• Recreation Locker Rooms are located in the Nelson Fitness Center
• Varsity matches always take priority

Facility Rules

1. Footwear: Only non-marking tennis shoes or athletic footwear with white soles are allowed on the courts. Shoes with black soles are prohibited. Anyone not in compliance may forfeit their reservation.
2. Food and Drink: Please do not bring food, gum, or glass containers onto the courts. Only water bottles are permitted.
3. No Pets: Pets are not allowed on the courts at any time.
4. Speakers: The use of portable Bluetooth speakers is prohibited.
5. Court Markings: Do not use chalk or any other permanent markings on the court surface.

Reservation Information 

• Active Brown Recreation membership is required for usage of the Indoor Squash Courts. 
• Membership information can be found here (Brown/RISD / Community / Day Pass). Memberships can be purchased online here. 
• All Tennis court reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Reservations are only available for the indoor tennis courts
• There are three different reservation periods with their own associated additional fees.
• Tennis Reservation slots will open three days in advance.
• There is no charge for Brown and RISD students.
