November 2nd marked a landmark moment in Brown Club Sports - the first-ever competition day in Club Women's Wrestling history. Sophomore Calli Gilchrist proudly represented the Bears at the Princeton Open, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting new era for the program.
Calli made the most of the historic occasion with a truly dominant performance. She captured the Princeton Open Championship (124), defeating every opponent by pin or technical fall. In the finals, Calli faced the NCAA's #8-ranked wrestler and wasted no time, scoring an incredible 10 points in the first two minutes to secure a first-period technical fall and claim the title. Her victory made Brown the only Ivy League school with a champion at the tournament - a remarkable accomplishment for the program's debut outing.
The day will be remembered as a defining milestone for Brown Women's Wrestling, a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and history in the making. Congratulations to Calli and the entire program for an unforgettable start to this new chapter at Brown.
