David Laflamme

David Laflamme

Head Coach Dave Laflamme is in his 18th season as the Linton A. “Jay” Fluck ’65 Head Coaching Chair for Men’s Rugby in 2025-26. Laflamme joined the Brown Men’s Rugby staff as an assistant coach in 1997 and was promoted to head coach in 2008. In 2015, the position was made full-time after our generous alumni endowed the Linton A. "Jay" Fluck '65 Head Coaching Chair for Men's Rugby, to honor the now late Jay Fluck. Laflamme is the first full-time men’s coach at Brown University and the first to win a D1 National Championship (2022). His involvement in rugby extends beyond the university, having been in the game since 1987, with the USA High School All-Americans, the NCR Collegiate All-Stars, the NCR Collegiate All-Americans, and development work with the New England Free Jacks MLR team.

WHY BROWN

"I love this University and everything it stands for. Rugby here is the icing on the cake of a world-class education. What we’ve created from a program standpoint has been an amazing journey. It gives me great pride to have made such a positive impact on hundreds of student-athletes who passed through the Van Wickle Gates. There’s no better place to get a top-level education and play nationally competitive rugby than here at Brown University”.
